Nick

Program Director

During his 22 years as a heroin addict, Nick Midgley spent a lot of time in and out of rehab facilities. He knew that addicts needed better and was motivated to do something about it. He founded Hope in Health to offer an alternative rehab with higher clinical integrity.

“We offer holistic modalities with yoga, meditation and breath work therapy, which is a huge part of recovery,” he explains.

“But we also have that clinical integrity. My vision for recovery is to take away all the distractions so our guests can live their lives more harmoniously without drugs and alcohol.”

As a professional boxer and personal trainer, Nick oversees the program development and serves as the personal trainer for the guests. He is proud of the Hope in Health team and what they are able to achieve together to offer a personalised program for every individual guest.

“I keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening, which modalities are working better for each guest and how they’re responding,” he says. “It’s incredible what hope can actually can dor people, it can give them a whole new lease on life. There’s something that happens during treatment. The guests get the spark back in their eyes and the lights come back on. When you witness that, which we do regularly, it’s really incredible.”
