Nicole

Senior Carer and Breath Work Facilitator

On her own personal journey of addiction recovery, Nicole Schiller discovered breath work and it changed her life. Through this practice she was able to access freedom within herself. It allowed for deep somatic healing and the physical release of emotions stored in the body. She completed her training in breath work and facilitation, and it’s those skills, along with her lived experience, that she brings to Hope in Health.

I teach the guests how to regulate their nervous system through different breath techniques,” she explains.

“Most addicts and people in rehab come from trauma. They’re stuck in their fight or flight nervous system. My role is to introduce them to breath work and how to activate their parasympathetic nervous system. Learning how to breathe correctly and live in a relaxed, calm state is incredible healing.”

Nicole shares that the breath work exercises help the guests to be present. She’s proud of the role she plays in the holistic program, both as a Senior Carer and Breath Work Facilitator.

“The guests come to Hope in Health full of self-loathing, self-doubt, anxiety and uncertainty” she reflects.

They leave full of hope, ambition and with a clearer direction of who they are, what they want and where they’re heading.”
